Trip Advisor Reviews

Had a wonderful time here with my family. It is located on Rt 86 but I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it is. Very clean and well maintained. Everything is updated as well. Including the wifi. We had no service in NY all of our mobile device rely on the wifi at the hotel and all 4 of them worked well. The owners are a very warm and kind couple. The rooms are nice we loved the authentic log cabin feel and good quality furniture. They all have hair dryers and fridges. Pretty new grill on site, swing set with a little jungle gym, swimming pool, fire pit, as well as a basket ball hoop. Also conveniently located at the center to many attractions. Most of our days were busy hiking or sight seeing, but when we get back we like how we can relax with some good activities at the hotel. We loved our time there and are definitely going back again. If you want a nice and comfy place to stay while traveling at the Lake placid area, this is a place where you will be very happy!

We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights and would gladly return again! The hotel room was immaculate with updated furniture etc, sm fridge and micro were conveniently located in the room as well. The owners Bill and Judy were friendly and very accommodating to any questions or requests. It was nice to chat with them and learn tidbits about the surrounding area. After a few days it felt as if we were staying with family and knew we would return in the spring. You can stay in the chaos of lake placid but we will continue to stay a few miles away in the tranquility of Wilmington.

My husband & I just spent a week here & couldn't have been happier. We stayed in a regular room that was decorated to appear like a log cabin. It was budget friendly & located about 10 miles outside the hustle & bustle of Lake Placid & just down the road from Whiteface Mtn. Close enough to run into Lake Placid to get something to eat in the evening, but there were a few very good restaurants close by also, without having to drive more than a couple miles. This place was immaculate & you can tell the owners take great pride in their establishment by the top-notch condition everything was in. We were there mainly for hiking and enjoyed returning each afternoon to talk on the porch with Bill about our day & giving some attention to their pet dog, Lucy. There is a small, continental breakfast available & a country store with anything you would need across the road, along with a liquor store. The rooms have a microwave & refrigerator that makes it very easy to prepare something light in your room if desired. There is a pool, playground, shuffleboard & plenty of seating outside to enjoy yourselves. We cannot express enough at how happy we were with our stay here. We are looking forward to seeing Judy, Bill & Lucy again!! Thanks again for everything!

We just got home from a lovely stay at Alpine County Inn and Suites. The price was very reasonable and we were happy with how clean the rooms were and how nice the Owners are! The room even smelled good! :) the pool and picnic area were well managed and the location was perfect. Across the street is an icecream stand that serves food and yummy ice cream and there is a north pole store (convenient store which is part of a camping resort) right across the street. There is a lake beach area within waking distance too. Less than two miles away is Santa's workshop which is an old fashion North Pole theme park. lake placid is a 10 minute drive down a scenic road. The views are breath taking. Especially Whiteface Ski Mountain, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.

We had a great experience staying at Alpine Country Inn and Suites. Bill and Judy are totally invested in making their place like home away from home. The rooms are clean and neat, the shower was hot, the TV worked great and their inn is easy to get to. We enjoyed hot coffee and pastries each morning and had  several enjoyable conversations with the owners. Bill jumped my truck for me one morning when it failed to start. All of that plus Alpine Country Inn is only 3 miles from Whiteface Mountain, our skiing destination. I would definitely plan to stay there again.

My husband researched this hotel and booked it. I didn't know what to expect. I was delighted and surprised! This place is pristine and so comfortable. The room isn't huge but it has all the comforts you need. The owners, Bill and Judy couldn't be nicer. If you have any questions they are the ones to ask about Wilmington. They know what you need to know about Whiteface Mountain. I would definitely return during summer.

We wanted to go do some skiing at Whiteface Mountain. We spent 2 nights. This is a strong alternative to going into Lake Placid. (A) Its WAY closer to the hill (B) This is such a wonderful hidden jewel of a hotel. We are a family of 4 ( 2 teenage sons) so space is always in need. Even before we got there we were given all sorts for information while booking that made getting there easy. Once there the hotel is in such beautiful condition I was stunned. I do lots of carpentry so appreciated the effort and work in keeping it in nice shape. Once there the owners are very inviting and helpful. They offered us ideas and recommendations for all of our questions. The next time i am in those parts (without snow) I know where to call my home away from home. It is no wonder why it scores so high in customer satisfaction.

We stayed here while we were skiing at nearby Whiteface Mountain. I had read the reviews before I booked and I can only say I agree with everything people have said. The owners are very friendly and willing to share their knowledge of the area over breakfast. The room we had was nicely furnished and very clean. When we were there the temperatures dipped to -26 degrees Celsius but the room was always warm. It was especially nice to return to a warm room after a days skiing. As we were out skiing most of the day we were mainly looking for somewhere to sleep. I don't think we could have made a better choice, I would certainly return if I was in the area again.

Expedia Reviews

We stayed at the Alpine Inn on our recent trip to see Santa at the North Pole. Our stay was very pleasant. The room was cozy, but sufficient for our visit. The two double beds were comfortable, linens were very clean; as was the room as a whole. The pool was great for families with younger kids, only 5' deep at one end and I believe about 20 inches deep in shallow zone. Also, there was a pirate ship playing apparatus the kids really enjoyed. The hosts, Bill and Judy, were personable and attentive. The main drawback would be the lack of food options in the Wilmington area. One needs to travel to Lake Placid (not too far, but still) for any real options. However; I would definitely stay at the Alpine Inn again and recommend them if your family is considering a visit to the area.

If anyone plans to go to the Wilmington / Lake Placid area this is the motel to go to. I have traveled extensively and have never had a more welcoming, helpful, and pleasurable experience anywhere. The owners Judy and Bill are so nice. I can't say enough good things about them. I encountered a very challenging situation with a vehicle breakdown and they went out of their way to ensure my daughter and I were able to enjoy our time there. Great room, great hosts. Can't wait to go back.

Great location, service and stay, here at Alpine Country Inn and Suites
